The Love of Toddlerball

In this book, children will enjoy learning the importance of determination, discipline, focus and hard work as the main character West learns the game of basketball. West is a fan of the late Kobe Bryant and fell in love with basketball at a young age. West's mother struggled to find a basketball camp for him to attend until she came across an ad for Toddlerball. Once West started basketball camp he quickly learned that basketball wasn't just about having fun and winning. Each day he learned a keyword that is highlighted by Coach Ralph and Mr. Toddlerball. Those keywords are skills that will help children accomplish any goal they set in life.

That Author Life

Honestly, I still can’t believe that I’m an Author. The time, effort, sleepless nights and amount of research it took to get to this accomplishment doesn’t even matter because the reward was so much greater. The amount of love and support that I received after Ralph and I dropped the news was so overwhelming. Words could not express the gratitude that I have for each person that has shared words of encouragement, affirmed my vision with me, educated me on the journey of being an author, congratulated me and of course purchased my book from Amazon. I thank you each from the top to the bottom of my heart and hope that you have enjoyed this creation of mine.

Special Thanks To

It all started with an idea. Every year I make a list of goals I want to accomplish. Writing a book was on the top of my list but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to write for adults or children. I just knew I wanted to write something inspiring and motivational.

Ralph called me one day but I was on a meeting so I told him I would call him back. On that meeting my client told me that I should really write a children’s book. After talking about it with her I quickly knew that was my next project.

I called Ralph back once the meeting ended and what was he calling for? He wanted to write a children’s book and was looking to collaborate with me. I was literally in shock, not only was writing a book already a goal, but I had just decided that I would be writing a children’s book. Talk about alignment!

I immediately agreed and the rest is history. So special thanks to him for seeing me as someone he wanted to continue partnering with. We had already done so much for children within Maryland and Washington, DC it just made sense for us to continue this great journey we were already on together.

I would also like to thank my sister Tierra Wilson for editing the book and Melanie Royster for doing the illustrations. Another special thank you to the ladies that helped me get through the process of publishing by providing their time and free knowledge; Briana DuBose, Ciara Hill, Destini Jackson, and Tam Sease.

Be sure to pick up a copy of their books and support their projects! I have learned that being an Author is half the job, marketing and branding on your own is the other. So even if you aren’t able to purchase any of our books, sharing it with others matters just as much.
